The Mallee Men entered the weekend in second position, and Lou Goodwin was able to give them a strong start with a try five and a half minutes in but it was quickly answered by Timomana Kaue.
The sides continued to trade tries at close intervals as Jake Goodwin restored the advantage for the visiting, but it was again short-lived with Andrew Lavaka getting across the line to see the scores locked at 12-12 with 20 minutes gone.
Craig Iverach got across with five minutes left in the first half, but the Black and Whites would take a narrow lead after a try to Kane Simpson and a successful conversion from Stephen Broome seeing them lead 18-16 at the break.
George Broome crossed to continue the momentum early in the second half before Stephen Broome pushed the margin out to nine points with a field goal.
The Mallee Men got a try back when Andrew Preston got across the line, but the Black and Whites wrapped up the win with Michael Mitchell getting across the line before Simpson scored his second of the game to wrap up a 15-point win.
