Name: Greg Adamson
Age: 39
Family: I am married to Lisa Davis, who teaches at Marian Catholic College, and I have two children, Emily (15) and Charlie (11)
What do you do for a living? I am a teacher. I work in many of the local schools from Kindergarten to Year 12. I deliver many Science engagement activities.
How long have you lived in Griffith? Around 20 years.
What is the best part of living in Griffith? Bringing my family up in Griffith. Griffith has provided my children with many opportunities that they wouldn’t get anywhere else.
Why are you running for Griffith City Council? I am standing for this election because our community needs people who are willing to stand up for what the people of this region want. People not afraid to have a go. I believe I can help lead Griffith into the future and represent our community.
How would you assess the performance of the current council? Our council does well in some areas – but like any organisation, there are areas where there could be improvement. I would suggest that the council needs to listen more closely to the people who work and live in Griffith and deliver for the needs of the business and citizens.

If elected, what would you lobby for? Briefly, increased focus on community needs, better roads, ensuring our villages don’t get forgotten, greater focus on youth services and activities, and greater advocacy for our region.
My full election platform and updates can be seen on my website gregadamson.com.au
What are the main issues you see in the Griffith LGA? Lack of housing, Lake Wyangan and its water issues, roads, parking around schools, activities for youth, lack of an outdoor pool and other sporting facilities, management of public spaces like Lake Wyangan reserves, noise caused by Griffith Freight Hub, access to health services.
What are the best ways Council can help businesses prosper in the city? Advocating on Irrigation issues affecting our town, work with State Government on lack of available public housing for Griffith and the the lack of health services, see retail business supported – start working towards a solution for traffic flow issues in Banner Avenue and Yambil street.
Are there any major projects you would champion if elected? I have been talking with Council to establish an Education Discovery Centre at the Lake Wyangan complex site. I would like to see this progress.
