Sculptures to be expected this year include a big tennis racquet by Griffith Tennis Club, a stately grandfather clock by Tristan’s Barbershop, a giant number plate by Service NSW, and silos by Tharbogang Public School.
Some old favourites will also make an appearance for the event including the grand piano, reclining chook, a wise owl, and a castle.
Roughly 100,000 oranges and rubber bands are used to create the citrus masterpieces.

Events coordinator Karly Sivewright said the new citrus sculptures this year will “take our tally to more than 70.”
“It’s incredible to think that it all started with just a handful of sculptures back in 1995,” Ms Sivewright said.
“We couldn’t be happier to have new entrants still coming on board to promote their businesses and help us grow our display.”
Ms Sivewright said the event is “a fantastic talking point for our city”.
“I thank everybody for playing their part in making it such a success.”
While the event is not due to begin until October 7, six new sculptures have already been created.
Councillor and Chair of the Festival of Gardens Working Group Rina Mercuri is encouraging the community to get involved.
“You don’t need a sculpture of your own to be part of this wonderful community effort,” Cr Mercuri said.
“We need lots of people to help build the sculptures, so if you can spare some time please join in on Sunday morning October 7 – it’s a lot of fun.”
