Their passion and dedication to providing the ultimate customer experience has been recognised by the Griffith community, after being nominated for and taking out The Area News’ ‘Local Customer Service Award’ at the Griffith Business Chamber Awards ceremony on Saturday Night.
Owner Glennis Damini and Manager James Alexander were “humbled” they were announced as the winner, especially in consideration of the high calibre of the finalists they were up against.
“It was such a surprise!” Mrs Damini said.
“It’s truly great to be recognised along side all of these great businesses.”
“Customer service is our thing, it’s our mission statement says ‘absolute customer satisfaction’, and we try really hard and we do our best, and we must be getting it right.”

Starting off as a casual worker doing two days a week, the opportunity came along for Mrs Damini to buy the business and Mr Alexander says every year of “amazing” growth has been under her.
“Seven years ago before I worked here, I knew about her, I knew about the high standard of customer service she provided,” Mr Alexander said.
He says working for Mrs Damini is a pleasure, and attributes their success to the staff’s happiness – which flows on through to providing Griffith with that now award-winning service.
Clearly experts in the field of customer satisfaction, they say it’s what makes them able to compete with online shopping – an increasing trend impacting every store.
“A huge part of competing with online shopping is being able to provide that service. If people can come in and try our shoes, we will look after them regardless of any problems,” Mr Alexander said.
“We tell our customers if they aren’t happy with the shoe, please come back and see us because we can’t help if we don’t know, and we will do everything we can to make sure they are happy,” Mrs Damini said.
This award category was one of two local awards which were nominated and voted by members of the public and judged by an independent confidential local panel.
“We really want to thank the community of Griffith because they supported us, and we try to return the favour with our school rewards program, shoe-tying lessons, visiting the nursing homes, giving back to the community is just as important to us,” Mrs Damini said.
