Griffith Office Coordinator and Family Liaison Officer, Bev Devery, Fundraiser coordinators, Lynne Cann and Edna Penning, and Lynne’s grand daughter, Lara, have been working together to raise funds to help children who have been diagnosed with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
“It’s important to do something for the community,” Lara Cann said.
The charity runs a number of programs including family holidays, special events, and after care support. The annual ‘Time Out for Life’ holiday camp invites both sick children and their siblings.
“The camp is to provide a safe and exciting time with other children who understand each other, offering an escape from illness,” Ms Devery said.
Country Hope is currently running a raffle for Mother’s Day, with exciting prizes up for grabs.
First prize is a gold diamond dress ring valued at $1000, from Prouds.
Second prize is a blue cubic zirconia silver necklace, donated by Moreen and Les Corner.
Third prize is an Eclipse voucher.

Country Hope is currently making plans and brainstorming ideas for their next big annual raffle, with their aim to raise roughly $12,000-$15,000. In the past, they have run barbecue fundraisers at Bunnings, and at the Garden Festival.
“We’re looking for new members to bring fresh ideas,” Ms Cann said.
The Mother’s Day raffle will be drawn at 3pm, 11th of May at Central Plaza.
