“The best part of Easter is getting chocolate. Free chocolate is my favourite,” Chelsea said.
She says egg hunts are some of her favourites. Over Easter, she employs a simple tactic.
“You run really, really fast and get all the Easter eggs before anyone else.”
Chelsea isn’t the only one getting ready for the big weekend. With Griffith hosting a huge array events, visitors and residents alike are set to be in for an egg-cellent time.
With the warm weather fading, Easter is being pegged as one of the last weekends to get out and enjoy the warmer weather.
Griffith City Council Marketing and Promotions Officer Paige Campbell said no one does Easter quite like Griffith.
“There is so much fun around town. It’s not something that every town builds momentum towards,” she said.
“Easter is traditionally a time where families come home. It’s a time to catch up with our families and mates from home.”
The long weekend kicks off with a Griffith staple. Griffith's Bacchus on the Lake has been bringing together families for years.
Ms Campbell said the annual run has become a tradition around town.
“People often start the day out at Lake Wyangan. It’s an absolute tradition for so many families,” she said.
