A guy who’s no stranger to the camera, Lindsay Flack, is back again – this time to help out people in Fiji as much as he can.
Lindsay and his family are heading off to Fiji in August for a total of 13 days, taking with them much needed supplies for farms, houses and children.
His family are accompanying him: his Father Allan, “the idea man”, who is 76, his two kids Austin and Portia attending school there, and his wife Kirsty-Lee sharing her knowledge as an early child care nurse in the clinics.
“They will be attending school over there, going with the kids from our host family, who are the same age… I really do think they’ll learn more about life in two weeks there than they would have maths, reading writing here” he said.
After visiting Fiji with his family several years ago, Lindsay enjoyed doing what he loves – fishing, however was struck with his tour guide’s generosity of spirit, who went “above and beyond” to “see a smile on our faces.”
Lindsay started off in the army as an all-rounder mechanic, and has since gained valuable experience with engineering and related operations, which will be put to good use in designing and helping Fijian farmers with problems around their farms.
Lindsay still needs things important to the trip, and are desperately needed over there.
“What I’m really after is a post hole digger, about 30 cm diameter, a sapling planter shovel, and a 12 – inch grinder.”
“Anything like spare grinding discs even if they are a bit used, weld wire, drill bits, all sorts of fasteners.”
An out-pouring of help from the Griffith community and businesses has helped Lindsay obtain some necessities for the trip.
“I’d really like to thank Guidolin Agrimac, Repco, Free Choice Tobacconist, ANG engineering, The Shed for Men, and personal contributions from friends and family, people on Facebook that have given me some money.”
“At the moment our target is $2000, covering up to a tonne of delivery, minus a few essential tools.”
