A 78-year-old male Griffith man has prevented a break in after being woken in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The elderly man was woken at around 2.15am by a noise coming from within his house on Hyandra Street and went to investigate.
Upon reaching an interior door leading to the garage he saw the door turning and prevent the person on the other side prevented him from opening the door by pushing on it.
The male went to call the police and upon returning found the person had left the area.
Nothing was stolen however a window was broken by the person involved.
The 78-year-old is a previous victim of a break and enter in the same house in early 2016.
