Just days into the first week of the election campaign, Greens leader Adam Bandt is preparing for the possibility his party could hold the balance of power after the election and has drawn up a list of pricey priorities.
Mr Bandt will use the first major speech of his campaign on Wednesday to reveal his dental plan and other priorities, including stopping new coal and gas mines, fixing the housing crisis and wiping student debt.
"Last time the Greens were in the balance of power we got dental into Medicare for kids, and now we'll finish the job by getting dental into Medicare for everyone," Mr Bandt will say in his address to the National Press Club.
"The best way to tackle the rising cost of living is to make healthcare and housing cheaper, not one-off handouts that get eaten up by inflation.
"People will be better off if dental is in Medicare."
While the crossbench independents have hosed down reports their support for Labor in the event of a hung parliament was locked in, Mr Bandt is not coy about supporting Labor over another Coalition government.
"In balance of power, the Greens will kick the Liberals out and take climate action by stopping new coal and gas mines, and we'll tackle the cost of living by getting dental and mental health into Medicare, fixing the housing affordability crisis and wiping student debt," he will say.
The Parliamentary Budget Office has costed the Greens' dental plan at $77.6 billion to cover dental care and orthodontic treatment as well as oral surgeries, periodontics and prosthodontics for a 10-year period starting from July 2023.

The Greens will seek to have the measure funded with a billionaires tax, specifically naming Clive Palmer, mining magnate and chair of the United Australia Party.
"The money is there to pay for these plans if we have the guts to take on the billionaires and big corporations," Mr Bandt will say.
"Labor agrees with Liberals that workers should get a one-off payment of $420 but billionaires should get a tax cut of $9000 per year, every year, forever, but the Greens want something different.
"The Greens will introduce a billionaires tax, which will tax the growing list of 131 billionaires in Australia 6 per cent of their wealth every year."
