The club has entered three sides into the Wagga 7s competition and has a number of trial games lined up before the season gets underway.
First-grade men's coach Chris McGregor is confident in all three sides they are sending across will give the competition a shake up.
"We have nominated two male sides and one female, so that is a really good start with numbers," he said.
"All of the sides should be competitive, but we are also using it at this time of year as a bit of fitness."
McGregor admitted it had been difficult to get consistent numbers at training due to the COVID cases.
"COVID has been a bit of a hindrance and obviously with a bit of a later start, but numbers have been good. It's just about finding that consistency now," he said.
"There seems to be a good feel around the club. Apart from COVID forcing a few blokes to isolate we seem to be building pretty nicely.
"Hopefully, we haven't lost too much. There are a few blokes who don't know what they are doing at the moment. Hopefully, we are able to pick up a few more as well."

The coaching staff for first grade remains largely unchanged, with McGregor looking forward to his second year in charge of the Blacks first-grade side.
"I can't wait. We have got a good coaching staff again with Boz (Daniel Bozic), and Tino (Kaue) back," he said.
"Sam McLeod is going to be the third-grade coach.
"We have also picked up Peter Theunissen (Blake's father) as an assistant coach this year as well.
"We have lost Seru (Rogo), who is off to Penrith to be their second-grade coach, so that is a bit of a loss with his experience, but we wish him all the best with that."
McGregor feels the ending to last season will drive the sides to perform well this year in the hopes of receiving an outcome in an uninterrupted season in 2022.
