Starting off a 7-minute handicap, results show Bede Kenny completed the short 3km course in just 9 minutes and 32 seconds. (i.e., 3.10 minutes / km. Aidan Fattore's best-ever pace is 3.25 minutes / km.) Younger sister Ruby off the same handicap was back in 16 minutes and 33 seconds.

Callum Vecchio with an 11-minute handicap was the last of the short course runner to start and recorded the 2nd fastest net time of 14 minutes 8 seconds. Meanwhile in the 4.7km long course Digby Jones, one of 13 off a 10-minute handicap, was waiting for no one with just 24 minutes 41 seconds on the track.

Plenty of rose smelling on the short course. Apart from one, the 1-minuters were a definite walk and talk group. Two of the 3-minuters and all the 7-minuters (Kenny's excepted) chose a gentle running pace. The 5-minuters split 50-50 between a run or the walk and talk mode. The Savage family were off 9 minutes. They have all won trophies in the past so had nothing to prove and they didn't.

The Long 4.7 km course saw the zero handicaps first out and they were able to advise the race director that there was no one else out on course when they finished. Tania Moore (2 minutes) John Dodd (4 minutes) and Moreno Chiappin (14 minutes) were the only ones in their group.

John finished 1st, Moreno was about mid field and Tania eventually finished ahead of 9 others. The 6-minuters split into 2-1-1 with Stephen Munro finishing with some of the 10-minute group.

There were 3 in each of the 8-minute and 12-minute group. Like the three musketeers "All for one and one for all." They each finished in unison, with the 8-minuters smelling more of the roses. The 10-minuters split into 8 reasonable pacemakers and 4 rose smellers.

The 2 x 16 and 3 x 18-minuters sort of joined together with of course one exception. Vince Restagno was spotted running in the opposite direction to everyone else. Fortunately, his Strava watch was able to show he did complete 4.7 km albeit on a private track.
