The last round of matches before the Christmas break was played on Saturday and featured a tight finish between the Sixers and the Strikers.

The Sixers score of 9/71 (ave 7.8) was just enough to edge out the Strikers who made 8/58 (ave 7.3). Ruby Kenny played a big role in the Sixers' innings with 19 runs to her name.
Josh Taprell with 13, Matilda Malloy 12 and Hugh Kite 12 all helped to move the sixers score along. Megh Chaudhari and Andrew Maher both claimed three wickets for the Strikers and Vai Patel finished with two wickets.
Vai led the Strikers run scoring with 20 runs, Bailey Hill made 14 and Andrew Maher 10. Matilda Molloy with three wickets and Ruby Kenny two wickets did most of the damage to the Sixers innings.
The Scorchers made an imposing score of 1/94 in their game against the Stars who made respectable 4/63. Rory Lasscock continued his impressive run of form with an innings of 31, Levi Plum also batted well for 21 and Harrison Palmer made 14. Lachlan Elwin was the only wicket taker for the Stars.
Hudson Crack was the Stars major run scorer with 16 runs. Bill Barnard took two of the four wickets to fall for the Scorchers.
The Thunder batsmen were also in form hitting up a season high total of 5/129.
Alec Brady scored one of the highest totals in that competition with 51 runs in his two overs at the crease, Charlie Bunn batted well for 24, Jordy James made 23 and Hugo Bunn 17.
Reuben Mansell was the most successful Heat bowler, capturing two wickets. The Heat had to battle hard to make 7/56 in reply.
Koby Muirhead was the stand out batsman for the Heat, making 32 runs out of his team's total.
Jonas Catanzariti was next best with eight runs, Charlie Bunn and Alec Brady both topped off a good day, taking two wickets each.
This weeks award winner is Matilda Molloy who just edged out her team mate Ruby Kenny.

Cummins and Paine played out an exciting finish in their game at Jubilee Oval on Saturday. Cummins innings yielded 5/75 (ave 14.8) and Paine responded with 7/86 (ave 12.3).
Riley Sillis top scored for Cummins with a score of 12 and Miles Condon added a useful 11 runs. Kye Campbell bowled an accurate spell to finish with 2/8 for Paine.
Paine's top scorer was Will Ruggeri who made 19. Charlie Morel contributed a valuable 11 runs late in the innings and his partnership with Jemima Morel who made nine, nearly got their side a win.
Mason Caughey bowled a good spell for Cummins, finishing with figures of 3/11.
Bowlers were on top in the game between Smith who made 12/96 and Lyon who lost 19 wickets in compiling 65 runs. The usual run scorers for Smith led the way.
Reif Leach made 30 and Brad Whitworth 23. Lachlan Spry added a useful 11 runs to the score. Luke Ramsey took 3/12 and Nate Mingay 3/18 for Lyon.
Jake Suine, 2/4 and Kobi Nancarrow 2/17 also bowled well. Lyon batsmen found the going tough. Nate Mingay top scored with nine runs, Nate Hayllar was next best on six.
Smith had many successful bowlers, including Reif Leach, 3/4, Ayush Patel 3/7, Eric Molloy 3/14 and Brad Whitworth 2/7.
The Cricketer of the week award goes to Mason Caughey who took three wickets for Cummins.
