There is a saying, "golf is a game that lasts a lifetime" and it was proven when Bill Brown, who turns 88 next year, probably the oldest competitive member, won the C Grade medal firing 95 off the stick to card 70 nett.
Runner-up Jim Shannon carded 73 nett, 103 off the stick on a countback over Bruno Musitano 73 nett.
It was a family day with Brown's son-in-law Mark Townsend taking out A Grade on 71 nett, firing 79 off the stick, which included a three-over par 38 home.
Aaron Lawler 72 nett runner-up, shooting 84 on a countback over Allen Andreazza and Bryan Salvestro.
James Brown 72 nett won the B Grade medal, 89 scratch, nailing a birdie on the 6th, one ahead of Jim Dickie 73 nett.
Pins to 4th Max Turner, 7th Jack Trimboli, 8th Tony Catanzariti, 11th Terry Greedy, 15th Jason Magoci, 16th Aaron Lawler.
Bryan Salvestro Eagled the 1st. Vouchers went to 76 nett.
The weather was kind to golfers all weekend, with 53 players contesting a medley single stableford on Sunday.
Llisioni Koro 39 points won A Grade, Brad Hammond 35 points runner-up.
Barry Stapleton 35 points best in B Grade from Grant Gyles 34 points.
Broden Spencer carded the best score of the weekend, 45 points to win C Grade over John Cafe 39 points, the second-highest score.
Barry Stapleton won the 7th pin, Samuel Ranney 11th, Llisoni Koroi 16th.
Members are advised that the sealing of the Club's carpark commenced last Monday, December 6.
Access to the carpark will be limited, and it may mean members may have to park along Lloyd Prest Drive. Just follow the signs.
With soft greens, players are asked to take extra care in repairing green pug marks.
This weeks event on Saturday is a single stroke and is also the playoff for the Gold monthly medal.
Players who have won medals over the past year are eligible to play in the grade in which they have the medal.
