Up until December 10th, keen shoppers will have the opportunity to win a $500 first prize or one of five runner up $100 vouchers to spend at any of the business participating in the program.
Owner of King's Pocket Jeweler, Jonathan Woodward-Borland said that the program was a great initiative by council to keep money in the community.
"Shopping local is great, the money stays here in the community and its a good way to support businesses here in town, especially post COVID," Mr Woodward-Borland said.
"What we are trying to do at the King's Pocket is offer something different so people don't have to travel far to buy quality stuff, we import items from overseas and have many things that you can't find anywhere else!"

Buzz n' Moo owner Kylie Pastro also shared her excitement for the initiative with The Area News.
"Shopping local is great for our community, we lots on offer here in Griffith and we want to support local people and businesses," Mrs Pastro said.
"We have lots of stock this year, new baby gifts, casual and special occasion wear, toys, dancewear, swimwear and more....we are a mini department store!"
Ron Dalla co owner Alexandra Strano said that after taking over a small business, she had grown to recognise the importance of supporting local.
"Partnering up with the star business program is really important to us, coming on and owning a business you begin to realise how important it is," Miss Strano said.
"It's nice to have a destination to physically go to instead of jumping online, we really want to encourage community members to shop local as much as they can."
To be eligible for an entry, simply spend over $15 in a star business store, complete an entry form and place in the box provided.
Winners will be drawn at the Griffith Carols by Candlelight event on December 11th.
