As one of the volunteers I was particularly impressed by the manners of our local youngsters, not to mention the fantastic outfits and the community participation.
The community of Yenda pulled together to celebrate in style which just get bigger each year.
Homes were decorated there were lollies, chocolates, popcorn, fairy floss, novelty bags, the Yenda residents went above and beyond to make this a special treat.
To finish the sugar feast, we all headed to Yenda Memorial Park to enjoy the Yenda Rotary cook up of steak and sausage sandwiches.
On the same night we held Yenda Diggers Club the annual Calcutta for the Melbourne Cup. A scrumptious buffet dinner was served, the raffle for the horses were drawn and the auction began.
Thank you to Spencer and Bennett for helping with the auction and a big thank you to our patrons who attended.
Yenda Progress Association wish to thank Councillors Doug Curran and Rina Mercuri for their interest and support in Yenda issues and problems during the last term of council.
We hope they do well in the council election next month as well as the three Yenda identities Manjit Lally, Lou Testoni and Louis Toscan.
It would be great to have a Yenda representative on the council to champion Yenda.
Given the complexity of the optional preferential voting system, Yenda Progress Association recommends that voters place a number in their box of the candidates that they know and trust that can support Yenda and district in the future.
