With all the COVID-19 tribulations over the last couple of years, the end of 2021 is near. It is nearly Christmas and another new year around the corner. Here is to bright future years. This brings me to the generosity of the community we live in, in particular, on this occasion, the recent donations of non-perishable foods from our local BAPS or Swaminarayan Sanstha Hindu community.
When we were contacted by this organisation to help distribute the food to the needy in our community, we sadly were not in a position to do so, however, after some research we were able to direct them to the 'Hub' , where Meals on Wheels and Hampers of Hope operate from and who were in a position to do just this.
If anyone is in need in our community, please do no hesitate to ask for help, since everyone is in need of a 'lending hand' at some time in their lives. To be assisted by 'Meal on Wheels, Hampers of Hope,' a referral is required from an association, however, the Multicultural Council of Griffith will be happy to do so, as MCOG assist the community in which ever way, we are able.
As mentioned, Christmas is almost here and due to the lifting the COVID-19 restrictions, we are once again able to bring to our community Christmas Carols on December 5. All going well, we look forward to bringing a little joy at this time of the year. Everyone who feels like singing a carol or two and would like to participate please contact the Multicultural Council for details on 0412 811 343 or 0403 295 133.
This is shaping up to be a busy year, and local council elections are being held on December, 4. If you have Australian citizenship, it is compulsory to vote at government elections, including local council elections. So, to avoid unnecessary fines, remember to vote and to vote wisely.
