Fire and Rescue Station 311 got the report just before 9am, turning out to find the house well and truly alight and working quickly to control the blaze. Station 512 from Yenda turned out as well to lend support.
The fire continued for just under an hour before the crews finished extinguishing the flames. Nobody was hurt however the building was significantly damaged.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
Just two months ago, another house on Heath Crescent was found well alight on a Monday evening. Fire and Rescue turned out to that fire just after 8pm, and found significant structural damage to the house.
Again, nobody was hurt in the fire however the fire crew was exhausted after four structure fires in the same number of days. They would attend a fifth fire the next day, on Snaith Place.
Police are investigating the string of fires that have hit Griffith recently, but have said that there is no evidence that they could be linked.
