The lockdown has thrown those plans into the air, and with the Group laying down the pathway to resume the season, there is still some hope of a conclusion to the season.
That is the furthest thing from Black and Whites co-coach Andrew Lavaka's mind at the moment, instead focusing on the wellbeing of his teammates.
"As a coach, I have been touching base with the players just trying to stay safe," he said.
"We aren't alone in this; we are all in this together. I think there are bigger issues than footy, so it's just about checking in and making sure people are safe.
"To be honest, there isn't much you can really do (to prepare for the resumption of play)."
If the season wasn't able to be completed, the Black and Whites are the 2021 premiers as they finished the regular season as minor premiers.

Lavaka feels this isn't the way he would have wanted to reach a conclusion.
"I feel like saying that is a bit unfair," he said.
"I don't look at it like we would be premiers, but as I've said throughout the year, it is just good that we have been able to play sport and having the supporters out there supporting their towns.
"I feel like that is the biggest bonus to this year."
Lavaka also felt that it was good that the juniors were able to get their season completed before the lockdown, as them being able to play is more important.
