From the first whistle, the Blacks gave the Wagga side a run for their money as top of the ladder and left them scrambling for a new game plan to match the strong gameplay from Blacks players.
Wagga City did however match the momentum in the second half with an incredible run, leaving the Blacks in the dust with a 16 - 43 victory.
Blacks Coach Chris McGregor said he was was proud of how his boys played in what he previously told The Area News would be their 'biggest challenge of the season'.
"We played great footy, it's just a pity about the second half and how we let the match run away from us," McGregor said.

"I know we gave them a shake up in that first half, most likely unlike nothing they have experienced so far this season."
In both their April and June clashes, the match has been close with the Waratahs walking away as winners by just a handful of points.
Currently, the Blacks are trailing the Waratahs by only four points on the ladder in third position, with 17 points separating the Blacks from Wagga City.
"As always we need to improve and maintain our performance," McGregor said.
"If we are patient with the ball, stick to our structure and maintain our defence then I am confident that we will be able to bring home the win."
Kick off is at 3:15pm at the Conolly Rugby Park Complex in Wagga and will be the last match of the season before finals commence.
