The aprons are crafted with short, punchy statements rallying against sexism. Some standouts include 'You're not just a pretty face', 'a bit of skirt' and 'How are you single?' All common examples of misogyny and chauvinism, being critiqued through a symbol of the same thing.
Sarah McEwan, a creative producer at the Cad Factory and co-creator of the exhibition, said that they were thrilled with how it went.
"It was wonderful to have Julie Montgarrett to lead people through that process but having them contribute their ideas and their voices ... We love working with people and we love making work in a socially engaged way. Learning from people is essential," she said.

The day opened with a brief explanation from Dr Montgarrett explaining the concept and discussing the symbolism of using aprons. Participants went on to create their own expressions, most based on recent or impactful experiences they've had.
Ms McEwan's contribution reads 'That never happened.' She described it as a familiar call used to dismiss women's arguments and frame them as innate liars. She used Brittany Higgins as a recent example. A number of aprons used similar themes.
Ms McEwan added that the limits on numbers for the workshop was disappointing, but had it's own benefits to creation.
"It was great just to be with a small group ... It was such a lovely group of people."
Everything created at the event will be proudly displayed at the exhibition 'Political Women,' scheduled to open at the Griffith Regional Art Gallery on October 9. There'll also be an opening and talks from artists on October 9, at the gallery.
