The news comes as a relief for many Yambil Street businesses who have previously expressed frustration, at being cut off from the road when works commenced last Christmas, notions that continued after the works were delayed in February after the discovery of water seepage.

At the time, Mayor John Dal Broi told The Area News that whilst the delays were unfortunate, they were out of Council's control.
"Yambil Street has certainly presented many unexpected challenges, this is just another that we have to deal with."
According to council, businesses have been continually individually consulted as works near their shop entrances commence, to ensure minimal disruption to customers nor focus at work.
"During these works, pedestrian access to businesses remains a priority with temporary paths set up to detour pedestrians when required" Griffith City Council said this week.

Various Telstra pits throughout the street have also be adjusted to ensure consistent uniformity of levels in the new footpath.
Last month, curbs and gutters were installed and in the coming weeks works in the centre parking lane are also expected to meet completition with the installation of communication and power conduits, irrigation lines, street light cages and pits.
