The competition showcased over 18,000 entries and judged by almost 170 wine experts, before a shortlist of 50 wines entered the 'Best in show' category.
Another Australian wine, a Chardonnay from the Margaret River and Fermoy Estate also made it into the list however Calabria's wine marks the only shiraz to be named best in show, attributed to Calabria's 100-year-old vines in the Barossa Valley.
Those vines won the same award back in 2018 for another shiraz.

Sales and marketing manager, and third-generation Andrew Calabria was thrilled with the award, saying it was an important payoff for risks taken.
"This wine in particular marks a special time in our family's winemaking history as we took a gamble over a decade ago to venture into the Barossa Valley to expand our fruit sourcing and winemaking capabilities ... It appears that our gamble has paid off in a big way with this award," he said in a statement.
"We are so honoured to be recognised as one of the best amongst a sea of outstanding international wine producers."
The mentioned gamble was in buying the William vineyard in 2010, taking stewardship of 'old, brittle and incredibly fragile' vines and nurturing them back to health - the process took two years to bear decent fruit with a 2012 vintage.
Mr Calabria thanked the wine families of the Barossa Valley for their support in establishing the vineyard and growing the Calabria wine business into a new region.
The bottle is due to release in 2023, but is now available to pre-order from Calabria's website at $175 so avid wine fans can ensure they don't miss out on the bottle.
