Upper House Member for Parliament for Murray, Wes Fang said that the latest allocations are part of a $16.7 million in funding being distributed statewide, and brings the total funding for the Murray region under the program to more than $5.9 million.
"Local showgrounds are multi-use facilities used for a variety of activities such as agricultural shows, rodeos and horse clubs, markets, festivals, men's sheds, sport and recreation, and caravanning and camping," Mr Fang said.
"During bushfires and floods, many also serve as emergency centres for residents, animals, firefighters and other support services, so we want them in good shape."
Griffith showground is one of five other showgrounds across Murray including the likes of Deniliquin, Hay, Barham and Leeton to receive funding in this latest round, and one of 46 showgrounds across the state of NSW.

Minister for Water, Property and Housing Melinda Pavey said a total of $72.47 million had now been allocated to 892 projects at 189 showgrounds, after five rounds of the stimulus program.
"These investments will ensure showgrounds can continue to serve their communities for many years to come, while building a stronger and safer regional NSW," Mrs Pavey said.
"Showground upgrades improve the quality of community infrastructure while stimulating local economies, with work for tradies and materials suppliers."
Griffith Show Society President Brett Brown said that the new fence and rebuilding of the Davidge Pavilion would be welcome additions to the Griffith Show in the years to come.
