While it was always going to be a tough ask for the Griffith based side up against the top of the table ANU side, it presented them with the chance to climb up into the top four.
With the sides around Yoogali also fell, meaning the gap behind to Weston Molonglo, who jumped over Wagga, is sitting at eight points.
They remain just one point outside the top four, with Canberra White Eagles game against Queanbeyan City not going ahead this weekend.

This weekend's game against the White Eagles could be a crucial one for the Yoogali side, as with 10 rounds remaining in the season, a win at home would see them take points off their nearest rivals for the final place in the top four.
Yoogali will then hit the road to take on Brindabella before returning home for games against Queanbeyan, Weston Molonglo and O'Connor Knights.
