The Sikh community has come together and made a $20,000 donation to Khalsa Aid, which will go towards providing oxygen concentrators and emergency medical equipment across India.
India has been devastated by a second wave of COVID-19 this year, peaking at about 4000 new deaths each day in early May.
The crisis left Griffith's Sikh community "devastated" and looking for ways to help, as news of more cases flooded in daily.
The number of cases in India is now on its way back down, a trend which has sparked a feeling of hope among Griffith's Sikhs according to Jag Mohan Singh, a member of the Gurdwara Singh Sabha committee.
"Things have smoothed down a little to what we were seeing in the news about three weeks ago," Mr Singh said.
"People who have lost their families unfortunately you can't do much about, however now that there is not as much news about the loss of lives there is hope that things will improve even further in the coming days."

Mr Singh said the decision to donate to relief efforts was welcomed across the whole community.
"When we announced that we were going to donate ... the whole Sikh community agreed and donated towards it," he said.
"We also did get support from the wider Griffith community."
The $20,000 donation is not the first time Griffith's Sikh temple has opened their hearts and wallets for a good cause. The community also came together to make another $20,000 donation to help victims of the devastating 2020 Australian bushfires.
"The Griffith Sikh community has always donated with a big heart," Mr Singh said.
