The Bushpigs overcame goalless first and third terms to produce a comeback victory at Nixon Park, with five goals in the second and fourth quarters enough to continue the Kangaroos' tough season.
"Wins are underrated. Four points is four points and we'll take them however we can get them after two lean weeks," CSU coach Travis Cohalan said.
"Full credit to Temora, they turned up and rolled up their sleeves. Their attack on the footy, and the man, was really good so we were happy to get the win.
"The fact we were down and facing a big challenge and were able to respond and kick clear (was pleasing)."
The Bushpigs opened up to beyond a five goal lead at one stage in the last to put the result beyond doubt.
They are only a win behind The Rock-Yerong Creek and East Wagga-Kooringal, but meet the third placed Hawks next week and Cohalan said they'll need to find a bit more then.
"No discredit to the opposition but we would've been lucky to put together 20-25 minutes all up today of our best footy but we were able to get the job done," Cohalan said.
"If we dished up the same four quarters next week against East Wagga, we'll definitely be on the receiving end... Temora made us fight hard for that win but coming up against a team we rate as a real top three player, if we're not switched on we're going to be in trouble."
But at Nixon Park, Grant Daly led their midfield efforts, off Andrew Dickins back in the ruck and Max Findlay lit up the last quarter.
"The boys upped their intensity, effort and endeavour in the last quarter and put in the one percenters which turned the game in the end," Cohalan said.
In a beaten team, Will Reinhold was outstanding in his return to Temora after a clearance on Thursday from Sunshine in Melbourne's Western Region Football League, and captain Rob Grant was welcomed back in another change to their named team.
