The visitors were able to strike first, with Stephen Broome sending Jordan Demarzo down the sideline before offloading back to Broome before being carried out by the Waratahs defence for the opener before Brayden Scarr crossed in the following set to make it 10-0 early.
The Waratahs were able to hit back with Leeton's ill-discipline giving the home side a piggyback down the field, with Sione Kupu bringing the margin back to six points.
The reduced lead was short-lived, with Kirtis Fisher making a strong break which resulted in Hayden Philp scoring under the post before Daniel Watt and Todd Priest both crossed to give the Leeton side a 28-4 lead at the break.
If the Waratahs were to have any chance of getting back into the game, they would have to score first, and they were able to do just that with Kose Lelei able to barge his way through the Leeton defence.
Again it was short-lived joy for the Waratahs with Leeton getting over with a Cameron Bruest grubber not dealt with by the Waratahs defence, and Kirtis Fisher was on hand to pounce on the loose ball.
James Fisher was then able to dive over in the corner before Priest got over the line for his second of the match.
The Greens put the icing on the cake after Moahoni Lelei in the sin bin, Fisher was able to push through the tired Waratahs defence to take a 40-point win.
The win sees the Greenies move to four from four with a bye to start the season, and coach Hayden Philp was pleased to see his side's defence standing tall once again.

"We have been getting behind one another each week," he said.
"To score that many points and defend like that again after making a lot of errors, I was very happy.
"We gave them a lot of the ball, but to hold them to 10 was very positive."
The side's ball security was the one concern for the Leeton coach.
"We just need to get into the habit of completing and getting to a kick," he said.
"That is something we are hardest on and something we have to work on a bit more. Once we are able to do that, we should be pretty good."
Philp praised the work of Kirtis Fisher, Todd Priest, Jayke Stevenson and Will Barnes in a great team effort.
Leeton does have one cloud hanging over them, with Shannon Bradbrook coming from the field with a knee injury, while for the Waratahs, they lost Pili Masoe with a rib injury.
