More than a dozen firefighters remain at the scene on Sidonia Road, on the northern outskirts of Hay, after initially being called out around 8am.
When Fire and Rescue NSW teams arrived, they discovered the residence fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from FRNSW were supported by Rural Fire Service crews as they tackled the blaze, eventually bringing it under control around 8.40am.
All occupants of the household are safe and accounted for.
