Carrah Lymer is festival manager, and was excited to add some new elements that previous Banna Lane festivals didn't have.
"We wanted to bring a bit more performance and culture to the event," Ms Lymer said.
"This year we've got an Indigenous welcome to country and music to start and later on there's a ballet performance."
Ellise Pellizzer, the dancer in question, was also excited to be involved in this year's show after spending a few years abroad. She said it was good to bring her skills back to Griffith, where she grew up.
"I love the festival, it brings so much colour to the town ... I love that I get to share my skills with the community."
The town definitely responded, turning out to enjoy the festivities and are already keen to see the show return and grow in coming years.
"It's very bright and vibrant ... it's good to just have it on the walls where anyone can see it rather than a gallery or something," said Sally Foster, an art enthusiast who arrived early to enjoy the murals in the sunshine.

Cablan and Kerrin Khaled also had nothing but nice things to say about the festival.
"It was amazing. Good food and good drinks, and the art's been nice so far, we haven't seen all of it. Griffith doesn't have many things on so it's really good to see," said Mrs Khaled.
Mr Khaled also loved the festival, but for different reasons.
"The beer and the mulled wine, it's good."
While the light show might have wrapped up, the Banna Lane Festival and Street Scapes still have plenty to offer - talks and tours from artists, teen art workshops, and pop up bars are just some of the events still to come.
