It was a tight first half with little to separate the sides as an early penalty goal was the only scoring in the first half.
Both sides suffered yellow cards, but neither side was able to make the most of the numerical advantage to see the Blacks leading 3-0 at the break.
It only took five minutes into the second half for the first try to be scored as Gospel Toru was able to get over to extend the Blacks lead.
The tight nature of the game resumed, and it wasn't until the final nine minutes of the game the Blacks were able to break the CSU defence, with Blake Theunissen able to get his way over the line.
The visitors were able to wrap up the points as Avealuga Maiava found his way over after coming off the bench to wrap up the Blacks 19-point victory.
In what is proving to be a tight competition, the Blacks are now up to third to be sitting five points behind the Wagga City side, who continued their undefeated start to the season with a 55-0 win over Wagga Ag College while Albury remains just a point ahead of the Griffith side after a 36-17 win over Tumut.

The Blacks have also maintained their strong season in the second-grade competition following a 34-0 win over CSU.
Lorenco Tafili and Avealuga Maiava both scored within the first five minutes of the game to give the Blacks the best imaginable start.
The scoring halted for the next twenty minutes before Tafili and Caleb Owers scored two of the three tries to see the Blacks leading 29-0.
The scoring slowed substantially, with Tafili completing his hat-trick in the only points of the second half to secure the 34-point win.
In the third grade clash, the Blacks fell to a 20-12 defeat in their second game of the season.
Solo Toru and Sosaietescanlan Scanlan got over for the Griffith side, but it wasn't enough for them to take their first win of the season.
The Blacks will head back to Wagga next weekend when they take on Ag College.
