Griffith Women in Business will welcome motivational speaker Lucy Bloom to share her story on Wednesday March 10, International Women's Day for a captive Griffith audience.
The event will kick start the 2021 agenda for the group who aspire to provide opportunities for women to network and build supportive professional connections in Griffith.
"Our first event is always a good opportunity for people to catch up so it would be great to see past and current members there and have the chance to connect again after a really turbulent year," president of the Griffith Women in Business group Belinda Johns said.
"It creates a sense of normalcy having these events happen again, so I'm excited to have Lucy inspire us to get energised for the year.
"It's great timing to kick start any new year's goals you might have."
Co hosting the event in conjunction with BEC Business Advice Mrs Johns said she was delighted to support the event to be able to bring such a knowledgeable speaker to Griffith.
"For us it was a no-brainer. We said we'd love to have her here and help make it happen," she said.
"She is one of these women that has something great to say. Sometimes when new people come to speak and you don't know who they are it's a great opportunity to step outside your bubble and get exposure to other stories."
Lucy Bloom led an advertising agency for 20 years before she stepped into the role of CEO of a new women's health organisation. In less than three years she lead a small team to raise $7 million for a network of hospitals in Ethiopia. She then went on to transform a network of schools and health centres in South East Asia.
The event will be held at at Griffith Exies Club and tickets are $27 which includes nibbles and a glass of wine from Calabria Wines.
