The 5mm of precipitation that was officially recorded was enough to pose a problem to one of the wickets in the area meaning both first-grade games were abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The ground staff out at Hanwood Oval tried to get a pitch ready, but the pitch was unlikely to dry to a sufficient standard meaning the game didn't go ahead.
The unfortunate outcome of that meant that because of the washout at Hanwood the game at Exies Oval wasn't able to go ahead due to the pitch being covered to ensure the representative games could go ahead on Sunday.
Under the GDCA rules, covers are only allowed to be used from finals onwards.
Leagues and Hanwood will receive three points while Coro and Exies Eagles for the abandoned games.
