Griffith came away with a nail biting win over Young in the Derek Rogers Cup on Sunday. Griffith batted first and got a reasonable start from openers Ted Files and Cae Cuigan before the first wicket fell at 19.

Four wickets then fell for the addition of two runs, before a steady fight back took the score to 9/88. The main contributor to the fight back was Connor Moore who went in at 4/21 and was dismissed with the score at 8/76, after scoring 26 valuable runs.
A last wicket partnership between youngsters Brad Whitworth (20) and Lachlan Wynne (7*) added 29 valuable runs which ultimately proved a winning total of 117.
Young also got into trouble early and lost their first three wickets for 20. Reif Leach proved difficult to handle and was backed up by Jai Kenny and Ted Files.
Young's top batsman Will Rowan looked like winning the game for his side but with his score on 39, he was run out with a direct side on hit from Brad Whitworth which left the score on 6/81.
Young's score crept closer as wickets fell and at 9/114 it was anyone's game until Fletcher Kelly produced another run out with a direct hit from backward point. Ted Files finished with the best bowling figures of 2/16.
