Hair salons in Griffith are getting their fair share of business leading up to school returning. Natalie Donadel from Natalina's for Hair and Beauty has been booked out.
"We have been non-stop, one after the other. We are very busy at the moment," Natalie Donadel, owner of Natalina's said.
The popular 'mullet' haircut has made a strong come back for returning school students said Mrs Donadel, with some modern modifications.
"Mullets, 'skullets' and 'vullets' are all very popular at the moment. The bigger the better!" She said.
Mrs Donadel together with barber Tristan Sergi donated their time and expertise on Monday giving free hair cuts to Griffith children in Pioneer, something that Mr Sergi with his expertly fitted mobile barbershop loves doing.
"It was a great day. In about two hours we saw about 20 kids and they all left with smiles on their faces," Mr Sergi said.
"Today was a good opportunity for the young boys in the area to look good and feel good before they head back to school."
Twelve year old Sherridan Skelton is balancing nerves and excitement as she is due to start her first day of high school at Murrumbidgee Regional high school next week.
"I'm nervous, but I can't wait to learn new things," she said.
"I'm excited to do art. I love to draw."
The day was part of a number of school holiday programs run through a partnership between Centacare and headspace Griffith.
