Aussie humour and classic bush yarns are set to take centre stage for the Australia Day performance of 'A Few Quiet Ales' at Pioneer Park Museum.
The 90-minute show is centred around two blokes at a pub, telling each other stories while they wait for their mate to arrive.
In classic fashion, it quickly becomes a competition, with both trying to out-do one another with the more outrageous story.
Director Don Hillam says the show would appeal to anyone who enjoys that "Australiana feel".
"There's a lot of Australian vernacular, it's set around the turn of the century when 'blokes were blokes'," he said. "One bloke reckons he's an expert at everything, and the other guy loves having a dig at him."
"I've seen it with an audience and people just think it's hilarious ... it's just good old-fashioned humour."
The show will star seasoned actors Patrick Kenny and Stephen Holt.
It has been performed across the Riverina, though this will be the first time it has been shown in Griffith.
Pioneer Park Museum curator, Bonnie Owen, says she is keen to bring the show to Griffith audiences.
"We're really excited for this show to come along. I think it's a show that will appeal to a lot of our community," she said. "If there's one thing that Aussies love it's sitting at a pub and having a few quiet ales."
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We have some veterans of the theatre coming here to put on the show, and to be able to see it set in a bit of a unique setting, which in this case is the museum, I'm very excited."
The show will be performed at 6pm on January 26 at Pioneer Park Museum.
There will be a BBQ, pre-show entertainment by the Stickie Fingers, and beverages will be able to be purchased from the bar.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online.
