The decision was made on Friday with matches scheduled for the NSW Men's and Women's Indigenous and Country teams in January have been postponed due to health advice.
Docherty was drafted into the side to fill the holes left after the ACT Government tightened the restrictions around people coming into Canberra from Greater Sydney, Central Coast and Wollongong.
The NSW Country Bush Blues were set to take on Queensland Country and ACT/NSW Country on the January 13 and 14.
"Current advice is to delay non-essential travel within NSW, especially between Greater Sydney and regional areas. Given the number of players and staff located in Greater Sydney, Cricket NSW believes this is the responsible decision for participants and the community," the statement from Cricket NSW said.
It would have been another feather in the cap for Docherty who was a part of the Riverina side who took out NSW Country Championship Southern Pool in November.
