Teams will be hoping the new year brings more consistent weather so play can go ahead as scheduled each weekend.
The latter half of 2020 saw hot weather and rain cancel several matches, but sides are hoping to get back to playing each week as they start to eye off the finals series.
This weekend will see the ladder-leaders, the Coro Cougars, taking on the Ex-Servicemen's Diggers, who are currently third on the Griffith District Cricket Association ladder.
Likely the match of the round, both teams will be hoping to get 2021 off to a good start with a victory in the 50-over played to be played at Exies No. 1 Oval on Saturday afternoon.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Coro finished 2020 on a winning note after they defeated Ex-Servicemen's Club Eagles, while the Diggers haven't played since December 12 after sitting out the final round on December 19 thanks to the bye.
In their last game, the Diggers were defeated by the Eagles, so a win on Saturday afternoon for them will be crucial.
Diggers drew with Hanwood on December 5 and November 28 (inclement weather), meaning their last victory was actually against Coro on November 21.
In the other match of the round, the Leagues Club Panthers will face off with the Ex-Servicemen's Club Eagles at West End Oval at 1pm.
Hanwood will have the bye for the first round back after the break.
