The Two Blues are positive about their player prospects for 2021 with almost all of this year's signings sticking around, headlined by gun midfielder Sean Ellis and former coach Sean Browning.
But they are keen to offer a senior coaching opportunity to oaching role to the right person.
Barellan president Jeff Mickan is hopeful it will appeal to a player keen to kick off a coaching career.
"We do have other options in mind but we'd like a good player who wants to come in and have a crack at coaching, with good support from a non-playing coach and from the club and selection committee," Mickan said.
"So we're still definitely looking for a coach but we're getting together a reasonable playing list. We're happy with the playing list side of things."
Andrew Sidebottom was set to be Browning's assistant coach this year and is committed to the support role at the Two Blues.
He's previously coached Leeton-Whitton's reserve grade and under 17s teams and played his football in regional Victoria.
Browning stepped aside as coach but is keen to keep playing in a team that will again include Ellis and fellow Canberra-based forward Matt Wells.
Barellan are also looking forward to seeing three 2020 signings in Two Blues colours at last.
Alex Lauder, a Canberra-based veteran who has played at Queanbeyan, Tuggeranong and also Narrandera in 2014, and former Griffith pair Reece Matheson and Sam Foley remain committed for next year.
Former ruckman Shaun Allan has signed with Turvey Park but had already left Barellan after 2019.
Mickan said once harvest is done, the club may consider further additions.
The Farrer League kicks off on April 10 although Barellan have a round one bye. Their first game is a local derby against the Northern Jets at Ardlethan on April 17.
The Jets too are set to turn their attention to football after harvest, having been quiet in the off-season so far.
