What a weird last Saturday we experienced. The morning was hot and humid, then a dust storm followed by a drop in temperature about 5:00pm, then light rain a bit after 6:30pm as the Feral's were packing up for the day. Like the week before conditions during the actual run time were near perfect contrasting with the earlier part of the day.

There were 28 starters for the long course. Rodney Beckwith was first to cross the line in 28m 30s which was a PB. In this competition Rodney has had 2 x 1st and 1 x 2nd. Keith Riley was 2nd. He has competed in all five runs of this competition achieving 2 x 2nd and 2 x 4th making him competitive for the trophy. After a break of three weeks Niva Scremin returned to the Hill and took out 3rd place.
Fastest on the day was 4th placed Aidan Fattore 24m13s. Aidan has been in the top 4 placings for all five runs in this competition and leads the competition point score with 172 points. Keith Riley with 145 points is 2nd and Rodney Beckwith with 115 points is 3rd. With two more runs in this competition Aidan should snatch the competition trophy provided he turns up for both runs. Tracey Josling was the fastest woman on the day completing the course in 34m20s.
The short course competition is more difficult to predict. Bede Kenny on 110 points leads, however he has only attended three of the five runs. Mark Hancock is 2nd on 99 points and Elio Minato on 97 points is 3rd. Like Kenny, Minato has only been present for 3 of the 5 runs. As the old saying goes "you have to be in it to win it".
Elio Minato 20m58s was first in the short course. Making their first appearance for this competition was 2nd placed Callum Vecchio and his sister Milla in 3rd place. When it comes to fastest short course runners the Savages win. Ella Savage was fastest female 16m09s and Cooper Savage 15m49s was fastest male.
With further easing of COVID-19 restrictions the club will be offering a sausage Sizzle and refreshments after Saturday 12th December run. COVID-19 protocols will still apply.
