After the Panthers won the toss and elected to bat Michael Cudmore and Teao Woetai were able to make a solid start putting together 21 off the first nine overs.
Trouble struck in the 10th when Alex Flood (1/12) found a way through the defence of Woetai (12) while Liam Greenaway (1) followed two overs later when he became Damien Walker's first victim of the afternoon to see the Panthers sitting on 2/29 after 12 overs.
The regular fall of wickets would be the issue for the Panthers as after putting seven runs on the board as Damien Walker picked up the wickets of Jimmy Binks (6) and Tarenjit Mankoo (0).
Dan Bozic and Cudmore tried to get their side back on track after the fall of the four quick wickets and were able to get their side past the 50-mark before Bozic (5) was the fourth to fall to Walker after the medium-pacer managed to find a way through Bozic's defence.
Cudmore continued to be the consistent point for the Panthers and along with Noah Gaske the pair but on 10 runs before Ben Signor struck to remove Gaske (1) after he was caught by Haydn Pascoe.
That spelled trouble for the Panthers as Walker (5/24) completed his five-wicket haul as he finally ended Cudmore's (16) resistance while Signor (4/14) picked up the wickets of Jackson Hassan (1), Dan Hillam (1) and Paul Plummer (8) to see the Panthers bowled out for 75 in the 28th over.
The weather started to turn just at the completion of the Panthers innings with blustery conditions and rain starting to fall just as the Cougars openers walked to the crease.
With the weather being at the forefront of their mind, the Cougars went aggressive from the start to give themselves the best chance of picking up the full points.
Dean Bennett and Angus Boulton wasted no time putting runs on the board as the reached 27 by the end of the second over.
While Leagues were able to make a breakthrough with Hillam picking up the wicket of Bennett (23), it wasn't before the Cougars another seven runs to be sitting on 1/34 after just three overs.
The only thing that could stop the Cougars from taking home the full points was going to be the weather and the rain was heavy enough to bring the players from the field with Coro needing just 31 runs for victory.
After a half-hour break, the rain had stopped enough to get the players back out their and Pascoe (28*) and Angus Boulton (23*) chasing down the remaining runs just three overs after getting back on the field.
