It will be the first outing for the Griffith senior representative side this season with the Bidgee Big Bash washed out in October.
It will also be a change of mindset for the Griffith side with the Creet team to be used to give the up-and-coming younger players as well as the fringe members of the squad to push for selection in the Hedditch Cup side.
"We are hoping to play the first XI in the Hedditch Cup and then use some of the fringe players and the up-and-coming players in Creet," Griffith coach Tim Rand said.
"The plan is to give them a bit of cricket, and hopefully they will be able to win their way through, and if they are needed for Hedditch Cup at any stage, they are ready to go.
"Any cricket that they can get under their belt is good, especially for the boys who might be pushing their way into the Hedditch side."
Griffith was able to retake the Creet Cup last season after defeating Lake Cargelligo, however, they lost it on their second defence to Hay who saw off the remaining two challenges to take the cup into the offseason.
Taking on Hay again this weekend, Rand knows his side will be in for a tough challenge against one of the tough opponents in the Murrumbidgee area.
"Hay has been going really well the last couple of years," he said.
"They are a good side, and it will be a good chance for our boys to see if they are able to match it with them and put their best foot forward for Hedditch Cup selection."
