Griffith Leeton RDA had been working towards buying a new horse for their programs last year, and then COVID hit.
"We lost one of our most amazing ponies last year and she will be irreplaceable," Julie Groat, President of the Griffith Leeton branch said.
"But we've had to put the new horse on hold."
COVID has had a massive impact on Griffith Leeton RDA's operations this year, shutting down all the programs for their participants and volunteers.
"We haven't been able to run at all this year but we've still had horses to feed and look after and had maintenance on the centre."
Double Donation Day is an initiative from the Beyond Bank Australia Foundation which works closely with not-for-profit organisations around the country to ensure that they have the support they need.
Tuesday 29 October people will have 24 hours to donate to this page to have their donation to Griffith Leeton Riding for the Disabled matched by Beyond Bank dollar for dollar.
Mrs Groat said that the money raised through the initiative will go towards buying a new horse specifically for catering to their growing children.
"Kids seem to just sprout up between terms!" Mrs Groat joked.
"So that's the only thing we're really lacking is a bigger horse for as the kids grow up."
