Each competition has a logical reason for its name and the Arsova is no exception. Arthur West, a runner from the pre-Feral era named the competition. Quoting from his book "A Wild West Saga" published in 2017.
"In 1979 I had a spectacular fall when I tripped over a cypress pine stump which protruded one inch above ground. The next day I took an axe and chopped it out of the ground. Turning it upside down it inspired me to make it into the Arsova Trophy. We all know that Arsova is the Greek God of flight"
Arthur was inducted into the Feral Hall of Fame in 2019.
Subject to no change in NSW Government regulations, the Feral's meet at the green water tower opposite Pioneer Park every Saturday for a 4:30pm start. People interested in friendly social running or walking are welcome to join the club.
