Four-year-old Oscar Floyd asked his mother Paris if he could deliver flowers, after being told that if he was ever in trouble, he could go to the police for help.

"This is all started when I got pulled over for speeding," Ms Floyd laughed.

"Then we had to explain to the children that police aren't bad people, they help people.

"We told them that whenever they're in trouble, they can go to the police and they'll help you."

Oscar and his three-year-old brother Harrison met officer James Booth in the lobby of Griffith Police Station, exchanging flowers and high-fives during their random act of kindness.

Since starting daycare, the two boys have brought flowers every week to their teachers, with Paris and husband Tony trying to teach their boys the value of being kind without receiving anything in return.

Paris says the lessons have paid off, after seeing the gesture extended to local police for their service to the community.

"The whole experience with Oscar and Harry was them wanting to show their appreciation and to be kind to the police," Ms Floyd said.

"I don't know what the police will help them with, but they know if they're ever in trouble they can turn to the them."

To say thank you for the flowers, officer James Booth gifted the boys with police bands, balloons and pencils.

Both the police and the Floyd family enjoyed the exchange, Paris thanking James for his kind demeanor and speaking with Oscar and Harrison.

"We were about to go and I think James felt he could do something for them," Ms Floyd explained.

"He was so good with the children and the children loved it."
