In the 2019-20 financial year Griffith police issued 210 fines, with the "click, clack, front and back" message falling on many deaf ears.
Those fines have boosted the state's coffers by $73,266.
The number of fines issued during April, May and June did drop as coronavirus shutdowns reduced the number of car trips motorists were taking.
Despite the high numbers for the recent financial year, it was actually the lowest number of fines and money paid by Griffith motorists since 2014-15.
During 2018-19 police issued 246 seatbelt fines worth $83,574.
