The novice in kart number 33 has crossed the line in pole position at numerous tracks including Grenfell, Orange and Griffith twice.
Hamish says he is proud of his achievements, but now has his sights set on something even higher.
"I really want to be famous, racing in Formula 1," he said.
"I want to race with Max Verstappen, that's why I've got 33 on my kart."
After his first few races, Hamish repeatedly found himself in the stewards room after moving through the grid too quickly and impatiently nudging competitors.
Since that time the Griffith local has learned to play by the rules, currently leading this year's Southern Star Series with maximum points after entering in fourth place.
His father, Robert Campbell, said the journey has been an amazing experience.
"We didn't ever think Hamish was going to be a kart racer, he's taken to it like a duck to water," Mr Campbell said.
"It's been an incredible journey in such a short period of time, it never ceases to amaze me what he can do."
The young rev-head initially took the sport on as a hobby, after his brother was given a kart.
"My brother actually started before me, but then I got really bored and wanted to have a go,"
"When I got on the track he was a lot faster than me, but then I improved and got up to this moment,"
Hamish may have another trophy in his near future if he can manage to secure the 2020 Southern Star Series.
The final round of that competition is set for his home soil, Griffith Kart Club on September 13.
"He's going to go a long way in his career," GKC president Wal Snaidero added.
