With Australia and New Zealand recently announced as hosts for the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023, Griffith and District Football Association Development Coach Ross Morgan said it was great timing to hold a session for the under 10s and 12s girls sides
"To have such talent coming from our home- town, it made sense to invite Eliza to attend our training sessions," Morgan said.
"Her visit was designed to inspire and motivate young girls to achieve their best and know there are great football opportunities out there if you're willing to go for it and work hard."
Ammendolia began her footballing journey in by playing her junior football in Griffith before making the decision to move to Sydney to pursue her footballing career.
The talented midfielder has not only represented on the international level as a Young Matilda but also captained NSW Country and also played in the W-League for the Western Sydney Wanderers.
In recent times, Ammendolia has been playing for the University of Hawaii team where she helped her side reach Big West Conference final for the first time in the university's history and was also named among the Division One 'Team of the Season' alongside two of her teammates.
"Starting your football journey locally through Griffith & District Football Association can lead to many opportunities and Eliza is just one of many great success stories," Morgan said.
"We are keen to develop females in sport with many training options and avenues to achieve their full potential."
