And Griffith and the Diocese of Wagga Wagga have been waiting almost four years for a new spiritual leader to replace Gerard Hanna.
This week, Melbourne Bishop Mark Edwards was announced as the man who will guide the region's Catholics.
He'll have his work cut out for him getting to know the many parishes that make up the diocese but he'll no doubt be welcome wherever he visits.
It might seem like a small development, but the diocese bishop has an important role to play in how the church guides its parishioners.
It's also an interesting time for the Catholic Church as it prepares for its Plenary Council, which has sought feedback from church members which will help shape how the church moves forward into the future.
However, with the current COVID-19 rules, the region's Catholics will have to wait a little while longer because Bishop Edwards' installation is set down for late July at this stage.
Enjoy your weekend!
