The message that remains consistent across all levels of government is we must remain vigilant.
The MLHD has confirmed restrictions currently in place will not be eased until a minimum two to three weeks of consistently high testing rates with no new cases identified occurs.
This remains at the discretion of the state and federal governments.
It's important we don't become complacent by thinking that the fight against this virus has been won. In the words of Dr Kerry Chant, NSW Chief Health Officer, we are only 10 minutes into the first quarter of this 'match'.
We are following the guidelines from NSW Health and we remind everyone to continue to observe the following to help contain this virus; stay home as much as possible, avoid crowds and the most vulnerable in our community, keep a safe distance of 1.5 metres from others, and follow good hand hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and frequently.
Please get tested if you are showing any symptoms of a sore throat, fever, dry cough or shortness of breath. Call the Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099 for a confidential phone assessment.
We would also like to remind parents to maintain their children's vaccination appointments, which are important to ensure they are protected against all preventable diseases.
Flu injections are also available free of charge for all children aged six months to five years old. Call your doctor's practice to learn about flu shot appointment availability.
