Liam: Have you heard the latest idea being floated around to get the NRL season back underway?
Speedy: I haven't what have you got for me.
Liam: Well apparently they are looking at heading to an island off the coast of Queensland.
Speedy: Who is discussing this?
Liam: It seems to be coming from the NRL, and the player's union have come out in support of the idea. It would allow them to be in their own containment bubble away from the general public.
Speedy: I know things are tough, but I guess I better hear this out. Which island have they selected?
Liam: It seems like they have picked out the Tangalooma Resort on Moreton Island.
Speedy: What's there a plan of attack? How would they do all this?
Liam: Not sure at the moment. They have put forward a proposal, and the players association have said they are willing to consider all options.
Speedy: I suppose they would have to given the position they find themselves in. My question is who will finance this. I did hear something about the Warriors withdrawing from the competition for this year.
Liam: Well I couldn't really blame them given the position they would find themselves in having to be away from their families for a prolonged period.
Speedy: Back on the island idea, have they taken this to the clubs yet?
Liam: Not sure but I think they are having a meeting on Thursday to try and set out their ideas.
Speedy: You would hope that all clubs would be represented and I guess it could be viable. Now the next question is what sort of a stadium do they have up there?
Liam: I don't think that will be much of a concern given they wouldn't let crowds in. They would be trying to make their money through TV.
Speedy: I wonder what the standard of the field would be.
Liam: NRL island. It just sounds to me like a really bad reality TV show.
Speedy: What paper was this in?
Liam: I think from what I'm reading it might have been Sunday.
Speedy: That's another thing for the first time in a long time I didn't go out on Sunday to pick up a paper. I just couldn't be bothered to go out after staying home all Saturday.
Liam: It's still a weird feeling for me to be at home on the weekend.
